What happens during the biometric data collection (fingerprints and photo)?
Don’t worry — it’s a simple and quick process that usually takes less than 10 minutes at the visa centre. Here’s what to expect: 1. 🖐️ Fingerprint Scanning – You’ll place each finger on a digital scanner (no ink or mess!). The system records all ten fingerprints securely. 2. 📸 Photo Capture – A visa officer will take your photo on the spot. Make sure your face is clearly visible — no hats or tinted glasses. 3. 💾 Data Storage – Your biometric data is safely stored in the Visa Information System (VIS) and remains valid for 5 years, so you don’t need to repeat it for each new application. 💡 Tip: Children under 12 years old are exempt from fingerprint collection. ✨ At Outbound Singapore, we’ll prepare you before your appointment — from what to bring to how to check your data afterward — ensuring your biometric process is smooth and stress-free.
