How long is my biometric data valid for future applications?

If you’ve already given your biometric data — fingerprints and photo — for a previous Schengen visa, you don’t need to redo it every time. Your biometric data stays valid for 5 years from the date it was first collected and is securely stored in the Visa Information System (VIS).
