QnA Schengen Visa
What is the role of a visa application center (e.g., VFS, TLScontact)?
Outbound Team
A Visa Application Center (VAC) — such as VFS Global or TLScontact — acts as a bridge between you and the embassy.
They don’t make visa decisions, but they handle the submission and logistics of your application.
Here’s what they do:
• 🗂️ Collect documents and check basic completeness
• 📸 Take your biometrics (fingerprints & photo)
• 💳 Receive payment for visa and service fees
• ✉️ Send your application securely to the embassy or consulate
• 📦 Return your passport once processing is done
Essentially, VACs make the process smoother and more organized — but they don’t influence approval. The final decision still comes from the embassy of the country you’re applying to.
✨ At Outbound Singapore, we’ll guide you on which center to visit, what to bring, and how to book your appointment, so you can walk in fully prepared and confident.
