QnA Schengen Visa
Which nationalities will need to apply for ETIAS once it is implemented?
Outbound Team
Once ETIAS is implemented (expected in mid-2025), it will apply to visa-exempt travellers — meaning people who currently do not need a visa to enter the Schengen Area.
These nationalities will need to complete ETIAS travel authorisation online before boarding a flight.
Here’s the full list explained clearly 👇

🌏 2. Asia-Pacific
• Singapore

🛂 Who Does NOT Need ETIAS?
Travellers who already require a visa for Europe — such as those from:
• India
• Philippines
• Indonesia
• China
• Vietnam
• Bangladesh
• Pakistan
• Nigeria
These travellers will continue using the Schengen visa (Type C), not ETIAS.
💡 Outbound Singapore Tip
ETIAS is very similar to the US ESTA — fast, online, and simple.
If your passport is currently visa-free for Schengen, you will need ETIAS.
If you currently need a visa, nothing changes.
We’ll help you check if ETIAS applies to your nationality and guide you through completing it correctly when it launches.
