QnA Schengen Visa
How much bank balance do I need for a Schengen visa?
Outbound Team
There is no fixed amount that applies to all countries, because each Schengen country sets its own minimum financial requirement. Generally, you need to show enough funds to cover your stay, accommodation, food, transport, and return flight.
As a guideline:
• Most embassies expect you to show around €50–€100 per day of stay.
• For a 10-day trip, this could mean showing proof of at least €500–€1,000 in available funds.
• Some countries may require more (for example, France requires a minimum of about €65 per day if you don’t have prepaid accommodation).
You can prove this with bank statements (last 3–6 months), payslips, or sponsorship letters if someone else is covering your trip.
✨ At Outbound Singapore, we review your financial documents before submission, advise you on what’s acceptable, and guide you on how to present them clearly. This gives you the best chance of approval without stress.
