QnA Schengen Visa
Does Singaporean need a Schengen visa?
Outbound Team
The answer is no — Singapore passport holders do not need a visa to enter the Schengen Area for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. This applies to tourism, business trips, and family visits.
However, starting from late 2026, Singaporeans (and other visa-exempt travellers) will need to register online for an ETIAS travel authorisation before entering Europe. It’s a quick online process, not a visa — similar to the U.S. ESTA system.
If you plan to work, study, or stay longer than 90 days, then you’ll need to apply for a national visa from the specific Schengen country.
✨ At Outbound Singapore, we help you understand whether you need a visa, prepare your ETIAS registration when it launches, and handle long-stay visa applications for countries like Germany, France, or Italy.
